Ethical Conduct/利益冲突 Standards

500.115 道德标准/CONFLICT OF INTEREST STANDARDS POLICY

All 皇冠8868会员登录 谷学院 员工 serve the public interest and hold a special public trust to uphold the highest 道德标准, demonstrate honesty and integrity in all aspects of their work, and to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. If questions arise as to whether a particular action is ethical, 员工 are expected to take personal responsibility, and make choices that maintain the public trust. Each employee’s actions reflect on the employee, and on the entire college community.

皇冠8868会员登录 谷学院 员工 are obligated to use their official powers and duties, and the resources of the college, only to advance the public interest. 这 obligation requires that all 员工 protect the integrity of the college by being independent and impartial in the exercise of their duties; not use their positions for personal gain or private benefit, including compliance with limits imposed by state 法律 on the acceptance of gifts; promote an environment free from fraud, abuse of authority, and misuse of public property; treat members of the campus community and of the community at large with respect, concern, courtesy, and responsiveness; protect confidential information to which 员工 have access in the course of their duties; and create a work environment that is free from all forms of harassment and 歧视.

The state of Washington established the 公共服务法中的伦理, revised code of Washington (RCW), Chapter 42.52, to help state 员工 understand 他们的道德义务. 这 法律 directs the actions of all 皇冠8868会员登录 谷学院 员工. 员工 are expected to understand and must comply with the state ethics 法律. B. 报告违反

员工 seeking advice regarding potential conflict of interest issues are encouraged to contact the executive director of human resources. 员工也可以报告或 file an alleged ethical 违反 by a 皇冠8868会员登录 谷学院 employee internally, within the college, by contacting the executive director of human resources.

Alternately, complaints may be filed by an individual (personally or by his or her 律师) Washington State Executive Ethics Board. Complaints shall state the name of the person alleged to have violated the ethics 法律 or rules adopted under it and the particulars involved, and may contain other information necessary to the investigation. (RCW 42.52.410)

In addition, 员工 may make complaints with the Washington State Auditor’s Office under the provisions of the Whistleblower Act.

C. DISSEMINIATION OF INFORMATION AND ANNUAL REVIEW

The human resources department will make all 员工 aware of this policy and accompanying 每年的程序. In addition, all 员工 will receive a copy of the 皇冠8868会员登录 谷学院 Code of Ethics brochure. New 员工 will receive a copy during employee orientation conducted by the human resource office.
